Free sandbags are being provided to residents of Nicollet County attempting to prevent flooding on their property.
Nicollet County residents may pick up sandbags between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays at the Emergency Management Office in the basement of the Nicollet County Government Center, 501 S. Minnesota Avenue, St. Peter.
To arrange for pickup at other times, call the Nicollet County Sheriff's Department at 931-1570.
Residents are responsible for obtaining their own sand.
