Interns may apply for paid internships or volunteer experiences within the Nicollet County Health Human Service Department.
Programs that may offer internship placement include:
- Public Health
- Children’s Mental Health
- Adult Mental Health
- Child Protection internships will be unavailable until January 2024
- Family support services
- Chemical dependency
Interns will be selected based on the availability and the need within each department.
Application Process
Individuals may apply by clicking this link and completing the Nicollet County Health and Human Services Intern application online.
All applications submitted will be reviewed using the following schedule:
- September for the Spring Semester (October applications will be reviewed if there are remaining internship opportunities)
- May for the Fall Semester (June applications will be reviewed if there are remaining internship opportunities)
- Internships requested outside of these time periods will be considered on a case-by-case basis by contacting Lindsay Powers at (507) 934-8551 or by email at lindsay.powers@co.nicollet.mn.us.
Applicants will be contacted by the end of the identified months if their application is selected. Selected applicants will complete an interview with the Program Supervisor for their field of study.
If selected, the intern will need to pass a background study completed by Nicollet County Human Resources or show proof of another recently completed background study.
