About the Plan
Nicollet County partnered with SRF Consulting to update the previous Comprehensive Plan (PDF), adopted in 1985. A variety of land use, socioeconomic, and policy changes have occurred since the adoption of the previous plan. The updated Plan is reflective of these changes and thoroughly examines the county's vision, goals, policies, and implementation measures. The Plan provides a useful tool as the county makes decisions over the next 20 years. Changes in agricultural practices, local, state and federal policy updates, economic drivers and public sentiments affect the way land is used in the County, and these changes are reflected in the updated Plan.
