Public Works Department Responsibilities

The Public Works Department is responsible for the design, construction & maintenance of county roadways.  We are responsible for the design, construction, maintenance & safety inspection of county-owned bridges, as well as, safety inspection for the township bridges.  For the drainage ditches & tile systems, we inspect reported ditch & tile malfunctions in the organized drainage system.  We are responsible for the maintenance & repair of the drainage systems per individual repair reports & petitions approved by the County Board of Commissioners.  Our Ag Inspector is responsible for weed & seed inspection as specified by MN Dept. of Ag.
