Nicollet County Environmental Services is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of programs designed to protect the County’s various land and natural resources. Programs include:

• Land-use planning to promote orderly development
• Proper management of solid waste
• Septic systems
• Animal feedlots

Environmental Services follows local, state, and federal guidelines to promote, improve, and maintain a great quality of life for our residents and the public at large. Including:

• Protecting public health, safety, and general welfare
• Protecting and preserving agricultural land
• Conservation of natural resources and scenic beauty
• Providing for compatibility of various land uses
• Regulation of appropriate uses of land
• Minimizing environmental pollution
