NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed proposals will be received until   10:00 AM, June 21st , 2010     , by Bridgette Kennedy, County Auditor-Treasurer of Nicollet County, at the Nicollet County Government Center (Courthouse) in St. Peter, MN, for letting of a contract for the following:

Nicollet County State Aid Highway No. 41 , Pedestrian Bridge and Bituminous Trail (S.P. 52-090-03) located from 5.9 miles East of County State Aid Highway No. 23 to 6.2 miles East of County State Aid Highway No. 23,  being approximately 0.3 miles in length.

Major Estimated Quantities: 1 L.S. Pedestrian Bridge (Superstructure); 51 C.Y. of Structural Concrete (3Y43); 13 C.Y. of Structural Concrete (1C62); 350 Tons of Type SP 9.5 Wearing Course Mixture (2,B) (0% RAP); 5,690 LB Reinforcement Bars (Epoxy Coated); 85 L.F. of Pipe Railing; 300 L.F. of Install Wood Rail Fence; 675 S.F. of Modular Block Retaining Wall; 1,255 C.Y. of Common Excavation; 360 C.Y. of Structure Excavation Class U; 785 C.Y. of Rock Excavation; 600 Tons of Aggregate Base CL. 5; 1,290 L.F. of Temporary Ditch Check Type 2.   

Proposals, plans and specifications may be examined and secured at the office of the County Highway Engineer, 1700 Sunrise Drive, P.O. Box 518, St. Peter, MN 56082.

There will be a $45.00 (non-refundable) charge per set of plans and checks are to be made payable to the County Treasurer of Nicollet County.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the County Treasurer of Nicollet County, Minnesota, or a corporate surety bond in favor of the County of Nicollet, in the amount of 5 percent of the amount of the bid.

Minimum wage rates to be paid by the Contractors have been predetermined and are subject to the Work Hours Act of 1962, P.L. 87-581 and implementing regulations.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation hereby notifies all bidders:
