NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Nicollet County Planning and Zoning Advisory Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday June 18, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the County Board Room of the Nicollet County Government Center in St. Peter, Minnesota. The applications and accompanying documents are available for review during normal business hours prior to the meeting at the Property Services Office, 501 South Minnesota Avenue, Saint Peter MN 56082. This information is also available on the County website at: www.co.nicollet.mn.us.
The purpose of said hearing is to consider the following request(s):
To hear the request of MR Paving and Excavating, 2020 North Spring Street, New Ulm MN 56073, for a three-year review of a mineral extraction permit to mine crush and stockpile gravel, on property owned by Timothy Kohn, 46266 547th Lane, Courtland MN 56021, located in SE1/4 of the NE1/4 and the NE1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 1-109-030 in Courtland Township. Ref: 505, 603.3, 724.2.
To hear the request of Jason and Michelle Schroeder, 45318 511st Avenue, Courtland MN 56021, for a conditional use permit to establish a swine feedlot, on property located in Part of the NE1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 36-110-030 in Courtland Township. The proposed facility will consist of 3,000 swine weighing between 55 and 300 pounds, in one total confinement barn, with one concrete underfloor liquid manure storage area. The total animal unit capacity will be 900 animal units. Ref: 505, 602.2, 715.
To hear the request of Pig Maker, Inc., 26409 County Road 11, New Ulm, MN 56073, for a conditional use permit to expand an existing swine feedlot, located in the N1/2 of the SE1/4 of Section 25-111-030 in Lafayette Township. The existing facility consists of 250 swine weighing under 55 pounds (12.5 AU), 374 swine between 55 and 300 pounds (112.2 AU), and 1162 swine weighing over 300 pounds (464.8 AU), in seven total confinement barns, two earthen manure storage basins, one underfloor concrete liquid manure storage area, and six underfloor concrete flush gutter systems. The total existing animal unit capacity is 589.5. The proposed facility will consist of 400 swine weighing under 55 pounds (20 AU), 400 swine between 55 and 300 pounds (120 AU), and 1,700 swine weighing over 300 pounds (680 AU), in seven total confinement barns, two earthen manure storage basins, one underfloor concrete liquid manure storage area, and six underfloor concrete flush gutter systems. The total animal unit capacity will be 820 animal units. Ref: 505, 602.2, 715.
