Application Process
To become a Notary Public in Minnesota you must apply to the Office of Minnesota Secretary of State.  You may apply to the State of Minnesota by mail or online.  The Office of Minnesota Secretary of State will issue a notary commission card.  This card must be registered with your Minnesota county in person.  After your commission is recorded, we will return the notary commission card and a receipt to you.

Registration Requirements
When you register, you will need:
  • Nicollet County notary commission card
  • $20 fee payable to Nicollet County Public Services
  • A driver's license
Payment Options
Make check payable to Nicollet County Public Services.  You may pay by cash or check only.  We do not accept credit or debit cards.
